What are adaptogens?

Adaptogens are plant or mushroom substances studied for their possible effects on the response to stress. Proposed mechanisms involve the stress response system (HPA axis), energy metabolism and immune processes. These mechanisms do not in themselves prove a clinical effect.

Ashwagandha

Some preparations may help reduce perceived stress. Studies are often small and use different extracts and doses; findings for anxiety are less clear.

Rhodiola & Siberian ginseng

These plants have a history of traditional use for temporary stress-related fatigue or weakness. The EMA describes limitations in the clinical evidence; traditional use does not amount to proven treatment of burnout.

Cordyceps, schisandra & Panax ginseng

These ingredients are studied for possible effects on fatigue, energy and mental performance. Evidence varies by ingredient and preparation. Findings on Panax ginseng and fatigue are mixed; firm claims about liver protection, mitochondrial function or immunity are not justified for this formula.

What can you expect?

Results from studies of individual extracts cannot be directly applied to Phytoadapt. An additional benefit from combining all six ingredients has not been established here. There is no demonstrated fixed onset of action for this combination.

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide and magnesium salts of fatty acids.

Keep out of reach of children. Ask a doctor or pharmacist for advice if you take anticoagulants or receive antidiabetic treatment. Do not exceed the recommended daily amount. Food supplements do not replace a varied, balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle.
